A new name

SqliteManagerPro becomes SQLManager Pro. The app no longer manages SQLite alone — the old name would have become misleading. Your licence, your settings and your recently opened databases all stay exactly as they were.

MySQL and MariaDB

Connect to a database server and work there just as you would with a local file: view and edit tables, import, export, run SQL. MySQL from 5.7 and MariaDB from 10 are supported. Encrypted connections with or without certificate check, as you prefer; passwords are kept solely in your Mac's keychain.

Connection management

A new area in the settings lists every saved server connection. Duplicate a connection to open a different database with the same credentials — only the database name then needs changing.

Log file

On request the app records what it does — in four levels and optionally including the SQL statements it ran. Show, reveal in Finder and clear are in the settings under Log.

Error messages you can understand

Error messages can now be selected and copied with the mouse. For the most common causes an additional sentence in plain language appears — the technical message stays below it.

• Sidebar and structure view follow along on their own when something changes

• Every dialog sizes itself to its content — no more truncated labels, in any language
• Delete a table with Command-Backspace
• If a server does not answer, the app stops after twenty seconds with a message instead of hanging

Fixed bugs

• Tables and columns whose name starts with a digit or contains a space can now be deleted, renamed and changed everywhere
• Text default values were written without quotation marks on export, which made the file impossible to load back in
• A failed import was reported as successful even though the changes had been rolled back
• After closing an SQLite database the journal files were left behind

New: accent colours

SQLManager Pro now adapts to your personal taste: pick from several accent colours in the settings to match your setup. Buttons, selections and highlights automatically take on the chosen colour throughout the app.

New: Finder integration

SQLite files can now be opened directly from the Finder — just right-click → "Open with" → SQLManager Pro. The file formats .sqlite, .sqlite3, .db and .sqlitedb are supported.
