§ 02

Tips & tricks.

Get the most out of SQLManager Pro — proven tips from practice.

/ 001

Smart import

Let column types be detected automatically, check the preview before importing, adjust column names as needed and pick the right CSV separator.

/ 002

SQL editor

Use auto-completion, run multiple queries at once, take advantage of syntax highlighting — results show up in separate tabs.

/ 003

Backups

Export regularly as SQL dump, use CSV/JSON for data backups, store them in safe places — export schema and data together.

/ 004

Table structure

Define meaningful primary keys, use suitable data types, set NOT NULL where appropriate and create indexes for fast searches.

/ 005

BLOB data

Images are displayed directly, BLOBs can be exported as files and files imported as BLOBs — ideal for app databases with media.

/ 006

Performance

Create indexes for frequent queries, use EXPLAIN to analyse queries, enable WAL mode for parallel access and VACUUM for optimisation.
